Your dog is dried by hand using warm air—never in a cage dryer. This allows for a beautiful, fluffy finish during a calming brush-out and safe for our beloved brachycephalic breeds. We cater the drying process for your pet so they have the best, stress-free experience.

💅 Nail Filing & Paw Pad Attention
Smooth, rounded nails are achieved through gentle filing, we avoid clipping because it can cause tiny fractures within the nail bed eact time, We also check and care for paw pads as part of our holistic paw care.

🦷 Teeth & Gum Check
We perform a quick oral check to ensure your pup’s dental health is on track, noting any signs of tartar, irritation, or sensitivity.

👂 Ear Cleaning & Health Check
Ears are gently cleaned and inspected for any signs of infection, buildup, or discomfort. Proper ear care is essential to your dog’s overall health.

Hand Stripping

Service includes everything listed under spaw day & hand stripping is charged by the minute at a rate of $1.50 a minute.

Terriers and other rough-coated breeds have a unique coat that requires specialized care to maintain its health, appearance, and function. Unlike other coat types, rough coats are meant to be hand stripped, not clipped. Hand stripping is the traditional and correct grooming method for these breeds, and we’re proud to offer this service to honor and maintain the integrity of your dog’s natural coat.

Why Hand Stripping?

Hand stripping involves gently removing the dead outer coat by hand, allowing new, healthy hair to grow from the follicle. This process keeps the coat:

  • Healthy and strong, promoting natural growth cycles

  • Rich in color, shine, and texture, preserving the classic "terrier look"

  • Water-resistant and protective, maintaining the coat’s natural barrier against the elements

  • Free from irritation, as removing dead hair helps prevent buildup of dirt, debris, and oils that can lead to skin infections

Why Not Clipping?
Clipping may seem convenient, but it cuts the hair instead of removing it from the follicle. Over time, this damages the coat's texture, causes dullness, and can lead to a soft, fluffy undercoat that mats easily, offers less protection, and diminishes the dog’s natural appearance and water resistance.

Our Approach

We approach hand stripping with patience and care. Because this is a more intimate and time-intensive process, we charge by the minute—but we never charge extra during the early stages of getting to know your pet. Building trust is our top priority. A soothing bath is included with each session, and we highly recommend our therapy shampoo add-ons to nourish your dog’s skin and coat, especially after the stripping process, when the skin is more receptive to beneficial treatments.
